Brief Biography
Hélion de Villeneuve became Master after Foulques de Villaret and governed the Hospitallers on Rhodes for more than a quarter-century.

Life and service to the Order
Born in France, he died on Rhodes in 1346.
Rhodes provided the Order with a new island headquarters after its departure from the Holy Land. Its masters balanced hospitaller service, maritime defence and the government of a fortified Mediterranean state.
